Drive farther with the new generation of engine oil

Newer cars and trucks that are on the market today many thousands of miles on their engine before they need their oil changed. This is due to the fact that oil has changed significantly since it was used decades ago. In the 1970s and 1980s it was very common for a vehicle to need its oil changed every 3000 miles because the manufacturer wanted to make sure to prevent significant engine damage.

Now that there are technological advancements in engine oil, such as synthetic oils, the 3000-mile rule is just a fallacy. No longer will these oils gunk up engines as their predecessors once did. There are many people that may still be under the impression that a car needs to have its oil changed every 3000 miles, but this is simply not the case. We here at Honolulu Ford want you to be better informed.
